Dear fellow anglers,

This thread is open for all forumers in Malaysia and around the world to post in the pictures and reports of their catch in order to add in more spices and colours for all to sit back, relax and enjoy. At the same time this will also benefit us by increasing our knowledge of different fish species as well as fishing.

I would encourage and recommend that freshwater fishing pictures posted here is from method of CPR(Catch, Photographed & Released) or selective harvest with bag limits for both freshwater and saltwater. All for the goodness of creating awareness and consciouness

Year 1996, young Jeymatt caught a 45kg Samson fish at Perth, departing from Fremantle harbour. Method: Bottom(Paternoster rig) with frozen shad/sardin as baits but boat was drifting and not anchored. The fish was C&C(Catch & Cook)

Year 1996, young Jeymatt caught a Spanish Mackerel off Great Barrier Reef, Cairns in Australia. Method: Drifting with live bait

On subject of barracudas, the max weight listed on fishbase.org for yellow-fin barracuda (Sphyraena jello) is only 11.5kg while the black-fins (Sphyraena barracuda) can be upto 40kg.

That means the barracudas off our East Coast are potential world records, especially the yellow-fin. Anybody from Malaysia ever tried shooting for this record ?
