Dear fellow MFN,
I'm pleased to announce that a clinic for basic bait-casting technique was proposed and is scheduled to be held on the 28th June 2008 - courtesy of Pure Fishing Malaysia. The event will be conducted by Mr.Phil Foo AKA PhilMuscle - Marketing and Product Development Manager and his team from Pure Fishing.
I'm sure many of the fellow MFN has (me included), at some point in time bought/owned a BC set only to find it sitting at the corner of your shelf collecting dust after many failed attempts to have it decently cast out a lure – and lets not even get into catching fish with it. 
I thought this will be a good opportunity for those interested in learning the basic of BC.
Here are the summaries for the clinic: -

Preparations
Please bring along your BC set. Brand should be those carries by Pure Fishing. I'll try to get the list of brands from Pure Fishing asap. Try to borrow one if possible. Furthermore, Phil will be bringing some of their BC product range for field testing by the participants.
This clinic is free to all MFN members – minimum 20 pax. Please post your name and contact number here to confirm.

Cannot brand other than pure fishing meh? I got the T-shirt and hat for pure fishing only wor hahaha

Just go and participate with an open mind TJS, wearing the ABU hat and
T shirt, CK stated they will be having some BC products for field testing by the participants. After all PureFishing is promoting their products, hence this bait casting clinic.

Oh ic uncle thomas, u'll be there too?
But i'm not very sure whether i can go or not, later parents make noise or there're college work to do, haiya beh tahan... Anyway after browsing through my tackles storage only i realize i've got a vintage Abu Ambassadeur, old but beauty nonetheless... haha, sorry for earlier postin! Hopefully i borrow their new products to test becos i prefer using a left-handed bc, my Abu is not.
Chances of going is 60:40, 60% going cos my bc skilll really like pangsai.

TJS, I think you can just come wearing those ABU's apparel and bring along your vintage Abu Ambassadeur, who knows, Phil may show you a trick or two on how to bring back the glory of the vintage set and out-fish all of us...
Since you indicated a 60% chance of going, I'll include your name in the list of participants.. I'll throw in a teh tarik session FOC if you do make it..

you are most welcome CK, after all I am a great fan of ABU for almost half a century, how I wish I could go, but unfortunately I am in the south. Yes TJS go and have fun, CK is right with you vintage set, cheers!!

Maybe you should organize an advanced BC session down-south and we will all drive there. I too want to set a record catching a sailfish using a BC set.. =)

CK, TJS 'vintage' Abu is a collectors' item, one of the best small Abu baitcasters around. It can actually do wonders. I think Pure Fishing has done a new production of this model or a similar one and selling in the high hundreds. Not quite sure as out of the tackle business for a few months now.

Yes UBob, kinda miss going to your shop to kacau...
And this BC set of mine is special because its one of the last item I bought @ Tightlines.
Binjai, can.. but hope you can really come la... its not easy to have Pure Fishing to organize such event..
Badbuddyz, less people, no class.. minimum headcount is 20.. =)
