HI Guys,

Firstly, here's wishing all you MFNers and Kagumers

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I'm flying off to Cauvery tonight for a one-week battle with you-know-what, so I'm looking for a great new year gift too!

Okay, KAGUM has set plans for the January River Cleanup, as follows:

Date: 20 Jan 08, Sunday
Venue: Sungai Gabai, Hulu Langat
Time & Rendezvous: 8.30-9.00am, Pekan Batu 18 (meet at the big bridge over the langat river.

Trip Leader: Jerry Cheong

We'll probably give a couple of soft reminders to regular RCU guys, and keep this thread active, a few days bfore going. Hope to see you there!

Gerard,

Yup, you can. Get to the Hulu Langat/Genting Peras junction, keep left and head for Hulu Langat.

The Sg Gabai turn-off is a few km BEFORE Pekan Batu 18. You can wait there or meet us at the pekan. If you decide on the former...I'm driving a cowdung-smelling red Ranger with fishing stickers at the tailgate.

Don't worry folks, it's just good ole UBob going through his retirement blues!!!

OKay, the River Cleanup IS ON!! This Sunday, details as above.

A little bird in Sunway tells me that UBob is coming, mainly for the bathing. Watch out for flashfloods!!!

And a little bird in Bangsar tells me Guvnor is bringing a bunch of his office guys n gals too. They've done river cleanup on their own before, and want to see how the real sifus do it

But StevenK will NOT be bringing his entourage of ex-Miss India beauties. He has to go overseas (ex-Miss Vietnam, maybe?).

To more serious business. For those of you who are unfamiliar as to how to get to the RDV point (thats' Sniper lingo for rendezvous), here's a verbal map:

From KL, get on the Cheras-Kajang highway. Past the old Plaza Phoenix, and past the toll, turn immediate left (the signboard seays Hulu Langat). At the traffic lights of the town, turn left (I think the signboard says Hulu Langat/Pangsoon).

Keep going, past Pekan Batu 14. Drive another 4 miles (of course lah!), and you'll get to Pekan Batu 18. If you're early, you can have breakfast at the stalls there (and tah pau for the picnic lunch too).

The bridge is immediately after the right turn at the tiny town.

Jerry Cheong mad a recce visit to the Sg Gabai place recently. Seems, a contractor is doing the cleaning there now. But as usual, we'll have enough rubbish to collet on Sunday.

So, hope to see you guys there!

Hi Guys,

Have you caught a dozen Tengas in an hour in a tiny pool filled with people? Come see how it's done by our very own 'I'm just a form 3 boy' - 'I'm just a form 4 boy' - I'm just a form 5 boy' to 'Barely a month after SPM i need to go college pulak, sigh! Give me a break!'

Practice Catch & Release so our Children can FISH.

Seleman,

Sorry for late reply.

Of course, ANYONE can join! The KAGUM River Cleanup has become a family outing, where you can bring your spouse n kids, have fun collecting rubbish from the stream, then have a nice potluck picnic and mandi in the river too.

Feedback from most participants show that it's a good way to have quality time with the family whilst making new friends. Most are anglers, so it shud be great for you!
