And he has very good excuses about his friends (7 to 8 of them) going in at night and stealing our fish..... all for research and testing the conditions of the water. Yes,we took out the fish, yes we open the stomach of the fish but all for the sake of fact finding......

All that was done without a word to me. 7 to 8 times and sometimes 3 times a week. I dont want to accuse of how many fishes they took exactly because they usually fish when Wak was sleeping. But everyday we saw our fishes reducing and I guess you guys have been noticing about this too.

So, for the love of our place and to put a stop to all this, I decided to inform the Pengurus verbally. The moment the GUY knows about this, he immediately create problem to me and all of us. On two occassions, 2 days in a row, the GUY instructed the Ranger not to allow anybody to go in the Empangan. I was not informed on both ocassions. Lucky enough one of the officer and also the Pengurus took action to withdraw the instruction from the GUY and open as usual.

But then this created further anger to the GUY. Taking the advises from the Pengurus and also the Pengarah Perikanan I then decided to put all this on record and send a proper letter of complaint to his boss. The rest you continue on your own lah...........

So... what should we do to salvage the only place we have for our Fly fishing activity closed to us?
I alone might not be able to fight this but together we can show to the Kementerian that what we are doing now is not for the overnight gain nor for certain group only. Its for everybody and for the next generations too.

The best person to assist us is the person who has been helping and pushing for this centre to be materialised. Perhaps you all can e-mail your view directly to her : Puan Che Wan, "chewan@agri.moa.my" and share with her your own findings. Hopefully she will listen to you all.

Please accept my apology for creating this whole mess...and thank you friend once again for showing your support when I relly needed that.

afro_d	Posted - 04/20/2009 : 21:02:51 Fellow anglers. I have just been told a piece of very bad news by Nik Rahimi. Apparently, he is accused by the Perikanan Head of the park that they are not doing enough hence the little napolean is putting pressure on the bigger bosses to retract Nik's license to operate and run the ONE AND ONLY fly fishing and lure casting sanctuary in Klang Valley. An operation like Nik's should be fully supported by the Fisheries Department as it promotes conservation through catch n release practise. Unfortunately it is the EXACT OPPOSITE. I am deeply saddened by this individual's petty politics. For a place that is a proper CnR angling venue, the HEAD of the Fisheries dept wants to close it. What is the rationale there? Because no one can take back the fish? Because it is the perfect place to teach and instill proper sport angling spirit and to also foster the spirit of conservation? Because it is the only place where HONG fishing is not allowed? (Sorry bait anglers). As I say, IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE. I my self have benifited from that place. I honed my Soft Plastic skills, improved my fly fishing skills and learned the passion of catching a fish on you own tied flies. So to close this place down an open it to the Meat Hunters would be another blow to the fisheries of Klang Valley. Every else i go to fish, the fish stock is fast depleting, nets are EVERYWHERE, set lines with rusted off hooks, pollution, garbage, you name it.... Klang Valley as a freshwater fishing destination is and will be coming to an early death. So if you, like me feel that there is something seriously wrong with what is going on in Empangan Air Kuning and its imminent closure to proper sport angling, please show your support here. This is the last stand.

Too short for us to organize this Sunday. I need input from you guys on which day is more convenience. Furthermore I am thinking to invite some VIP from the Kementerian and Jabatan Perikanan, so need some time to organize it properly. Hope to receive good response from you guys.

At the same time... would be great if startrek can help EAK bring the UPM Co-Q fishing.... At the same time... I will tie lot of cricket for everyone to burly at EAK....

Even when we first started this centre, Taman agreed even there is a written letter from them to built a club house, a proshop and a new toilet. But now they passed everything to me and even blame me for not building it. Everytime I mentioned this to them, then they start comparing our centre with Paintball and Skytrack. They said everything was built by the operator. So this is not new. Originally the Club house is going to be for our AFFM (Association of Fly Fishes Malaysia) and the pro-shop is going to be like a small Tackle box with coffee house.
