I lost 4 lures because spider wire burst during a cast and the lure went flying away. And once because i hit a snag and before I can whip out my lure retriever, the line snapped.

It's nice and smooth. But damn intolerant of abrasions. I also think it's rated as it says, i.e. if it says 10lbs, it really is.

I have been using power pro for nearly 10 years. I switched to spider wire stealth 10lbs out of a desire to try something new.

No. Bad mistake.

Power Pro is still my choice.

Another thing about spider wire is that it is very supply, it helps in a cast, but in professional overruns and backlashes (called char bee hoon in malaysian slang), the suppleness makes it hard to undo the thing quickly. And if you are dealing with a bunch of toman fries rising in front of you, or a gang of PB giving flying lessons to seluang within casting distance, you WANT to undo your bee hoon quickly.

Power Pro is stiffer. Some might say that this reduces casting distance....maybe by a few inches. But the stiffness makes it easy to get rid of those backlashes. In any case, age will eventually smooth out Power Pro.

Murphy's Three-fold Law:

1. Nothing is ever as easy as it looks.

2. Everything will take longer than you think it should.

3. If anything can possibly go wrong, it will.

Hi Bro, the same thing happened to me also, earlier SW 10lb and recently try the SW 20lb yellow braid also kena ,dissappointed now back to Power pro,I think Puerfishing need to do something with their production Q.C.Appreciate all the advices given but already fish for more than 20 years experiences, so I know whether it was due to technical fault or the product itself!

2 cents view from me:-

-If you are using thin braided for sea, plz make sure that u always flush your braided right after you fish.
sometimes the salt would have crystallized and hence your line would be cut easily since the diameter of your braided is so thin.

-I personally encountered new YGK 16lb braided, only fresh water application. I was casting my 20-28grams lure...It snapped in the middle.. Not happened once, but more than twice. Right after the trip, I threw away the line..

i say, y'all aaa ...

6lb line diameter
20lb test
camo colour

was at tow foo sunday night/monday morn
fishos were hauling 2.5-4kg pacus
my friend hooked a catfish
me (lousy angler) had a fish come off the hook on a 4' rod even though rod was bent almost double, good fight. the fish deserves the victory *thumbs_up* dunno wot fish *sigh*

saw a guy getting a small featherback/sepat
another chap caught wot looks like a cross between a patin and a baung - long and high dorsal fin with longish caudal and tail fins - it's in the aquarium if anyone wants a look-see.

other guys caught a rohu later in the night.
tilapias were dying and unc wong has no idea why.

had another bite just before we left but the fish was smarter, took the bread off with a strong tug!
lost a lure to the island line

Lord of the morning,

I don't know if anyone have mention, but anyway, have you check your quides for cracks?? I had a similar problem with my braid one time, I complained to my tackle shop and he suggest that it might be due to crack guides. try using a sharp knife and use it to lightly scrap the inner side of your guides, it should glide over the surface smoothly when there is no crack. Just my 2 cents.

Cheers,
Brian

Can add the word "safe" too. So your 'fishes' do not escape.

Walaueh, imagination running wild, 2micron or 3 micron?

next you may consider using Lucky Craft lures with its original hooks. The hooks are extremely sharp and if you snagged on some logs or others, pull hard enough and the hooks will give-way and you get your lure back without snapping your line. That according to Grand Uncle Latok Culky is the built-in safety.

note: if the hook give-way when fighting a big fish, you are just a lousy angler. That too by our generous Latok

actually there is very much truth in what latok's saying...
